In September 2016 the SAMOSS network delivered the last training event at the company site of Biosensor s.r.l. in Rome.

Following an experimental session and guest lectures at the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) the whole network met in Reichenau an der Rax, a small village in the Alps, for an international meeting. Also PhD-students from other institutions were invited to participate and to present their research.

In October 2015 the SAMOSS network came together for the project's third training school on "Light Microscopy and Fluorescence Techniques" at the Ben Gurion University in Israel. After the training school the SAMOSS Mid-Term Review Meeting was held at October 15th and an international scientific meeting from Friday October 16th to Saturday October 17th was organized at the end of the network meeting.

Teambuilding activity climbing the snake path to reach the fortress of Massada

 

From May 18th to May 22nd the second training school and the second international meeting of the SAMOSS network was held at the University of Groningen. As a guest lecturer Prof. Jörg Kutter from Copenhagen/Denmark was invited to teach the fellows on microfluidic issues.

Teambuilding activity in Groningen

 

The first SAMOSS Training School was held at Complutense University of Madrid. All SAMOSS fellows and additional students who were awarded a bursary participated this event. After the training school the first international meeting took place in La Cristalera which is close to Madrid. During this meeting each recruited fellow of the SAMOSS network and all additional students introduced themselves and their individual researcher projects with a short presentation. As an invited speaker Prof. Ingo Klimant from the Technical University of Graz, Austria, gave a lecture on "Materials for optical chemo- and biosensors".
